Culture community meetings

Meetings of the cultural community in the Trenčín region serve to connect the cultural community from the entire region. They provide a space for discussions on improving the conditions for culture and the creative industry in the region, as well as the opportunities and challenges brought by the European Capital of Culture project Trenčín 2026.

What have we learned during last

Culture community meeting

The last Cultural Community Meeting of the Trenčín Region took place on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the premises of the Piarist Gymnasium of Jozef Branecký.

We welcomed guests from a successful project in Košice—Zdenka Košová and Matúš Binc. They came to talk about Výmenníky, which transform abandoned buildings into cultural centers and build communities, a project that emerged from Košice European Capital of Culture 2013. Their inspiring project demonstrated through practical examples how useful and valuable activities funded by the European Capital of Culture project can be.

We also provided updates on the preparation of the Trenčín 2026 project, two years before its culmination, discussing the opportunities and possibilities it brings to the cultural community now and the changes it can bring to the entire region through joint cooperation. The new director of the Trenčín Creative Institute, Ján Sudzina, shared his experiences with a similar project, Košice 2013, which he led.

The event also featured pleasant conversations over delicious refreshments. We want to thank all participants and look forward to seeing you at the next planned meeting this fall.
